Sierra Nevada Corporation Again Recognized as Tier 1 Superior Supplier for U.S. Air Force

SPARKS, Nev., August 01, 2016 – Sierra Nevada Corporation has again been named a Tier 1 Superior Supplier for the U.S. Air Force as part of its 2016 Superior Supplier Incentive Program (SSIP) ratings. The aerospace and technology company also earned the prestigious recognition in February 2015. The ratings, which were released by the Air Force July 25 and are designed to incentivize performance excellence, are created by using the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS).

The CPARS allows airmen to rate contracted companies on several performance criteria including schedule adherence, quality control, management responsiveness, professional conduct and complexity of work. SSIP rankings are compiled using three years of CPARS data.

“Receipt of a Superior SSIP ranking from the Air Force is truly an honor,” said Fatih Ozmen, owner and CEO of Sierra Nevada Corporation. “The SSIP ratings are based on three years of CPARS data, which means that our Air Force program teams are applying maximum effort – giving every project their all – day in and day out, month after month, year after year. I am so proud of our SNC team. This is much deserved recognition.”

Each branch of the U.S. military publishes ratings that range from one to three, with one earning the “superior” label. All branches of the military utilize the SSIP rating system.

SNC has worked with the Air Force for a majority of its 53-year history. SNC currently performs functions such as manufacturing, training and ground support for the Air Force.
