Sierra Nevada Corporation Awarded Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) Systems Sustainment Contract

Sparks, Nev., May 08, 2014 – The U.S. Army Contracting Command has awarded Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) a federal contract valued at up to $46.5 million for spares and services supporting the Thor III and Baldr dismounted Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems.

"SNC is proud that our fielded CREW systems have played a major role in countering the effects of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED) aiding our military men and women who are on the front lines," said Paul Plemmons, corporate vice president of Electronic Warfare and Range Instrumentation (EWR) at SNC. "We look forward to sustaining these vital CREW capabilities for as long as they are required by our U.S. soldiers."

SNC continues to lead the industry in the development of advanced low size, weight and power or (SWaP) ground electronic countermeasure (ECM) system, SNC's EWR team is working to develop the next generation of multi-functional electronic warfare (MFEW) systems for our military forces.

Work on this contract will be based at SNC in Folsom, California and performed at multiple locations across the United States.
